In spiritual communities, there is often a subtle, unstated desire to escape.

We look at the density of the physical world—the politics, the bills, the aches and pains, the family drama—and we use our spirituality as an eject button. We meditate to float away. We check out and dissociate. We look for "ascension" because we are secretly tired of being human - the greatest gift we’ve been given.

But in my experience, leaving the body is easy. Staying in it is the master class.

True spiritual power isn't about how high you can fly; it's about how much of your vast, cosmic Spirit and unique energy you can actually bring down and anchor into the density of your physical form - bringing your unique flavor of magic to everything and everyone you engage with on a day to day basis.

This is the essence of Spiritual Autonomy.

The Pilot and The Vessel

Think of your body as a high-tech piece of hardware. If you (the Spirit) are not fully seated in the pilot’s chair because you are busy floating in the astral plane or disassociating to avoid pain, the chair doesn't stay empty.

Nature abhors a vacuum.

When you vacate your pilot’s seat, other energies step in to drive.

  • Trauma takes the wheel.

  • Ancestral patterns start navigating.

  • Epigenetic programming determines the route.

  • Other people's expectations set the speed.

  • Life becomes about responsibility to others instead of creativity and passion.

You might think you are making choices, but often, it is these "squatters" in your vessel making them for you, unconsciously.

The Method: Embodiment as Exorcism

In my upcoming elective, Path of the Mystic : Spiritual Autonomy, I teach a very different approach to spiritual growth. We don't practice "out-of-body" travel. We practice radical re-habitation.

We use the state of Samadhi—a deep meditative state of oneness with oneself—to scour the vessel.

We go into the body’s fascia, the genetics, and our cellular memory to find the "foreign energy" that is occupying our space. We clear out the trauma loops, the lives experiences we are quite done with, and the family contracts that are running on autopilot.

By flushing out these limiting and controlling pictures, you make room for more of your own spiritual energy in present time. You finally sit down in the pilot’s chair, put your hands on the controls, and start really drive your own life.

This is not about escaping the physical world; it is about clearing your vessel so completely that your Spirit can fully arrive.

Are you ready to take the wheel?

Path of the Mystic: Spiritual Autonomy is a year-long immersive elective for sensitives and seekers called to step into higher levels of embodied consciousness. I designed this container for students who are ready to move beyond "doing" energy work and step into "being" the energy of themselves in their lives.

Note: This is an advanced space. You must have a functional understanding of core Clairvoyant techniques (running energy, destroying roses) to enroll. Read more here to find out about the pre-requisites.

🔭 One of the truly magical things about our community at Art of the Seer is that since we share a commitment to the same tools, techniques, and practice container, it’s easy to reach out to each other members and create your own reading and healing exchanges. Using this post as inspiration, find a partner to work with—perhaps someone you know from a current or previous class, or post in the practicum chat groups that you were inspired by this post and find someone new to explore with.

🏄‍♂️ Weekly Practitioner Exchange: 30-Minute Reading & Healing

Pair up with a reading partner and exchange 30-minute Clairvoyant Readings together. Practice both giving and receiving as a way of deepening your experience and relationship to this topic.

The Reading Topics:

  • The Vacancy Sign: Look at the readee’s body. What percentage of their space is currently occupied by their own Spirit? (e.g., Are they 40% in? 80% in?). Where do they go when they check out?

  • The Squatter: Look for a specific energy that tends to "take the wheel" when the readee un-grounds. Is it an Ancestor? A Fear picture? A societal "Should"?

  • The Samadhi Vibration: Look at the energy of "Samadhi" (oneness with self) in their space. What color is this vibration for them? How does their body react when they run it?

  • The Pilot: Ask the readee to mock up being 100% in the driver's seat of their life. What does that version of them look like? What changes in their aura?

Healing Focus: Give the readee a healing on their 1st Chakra (Root) and Physical Feet. Help them clear the connection between their spirit and the earth, making it safe, welcoming, and vibrant for them to land fully in the body.

🧘🏾‍♂️ One Small Step: A Solo Micro-Action

Sometimes something is too charged to feel safe being vulnerable in interpersonal spaces with it at first. If this is really stimulating you, you can work this energy in meditation using your tools, or in moments of embodiment and pause throughout your day.

The Anchoring Breath

Next time you feel "spacey," anxious, or like you are floating away:

  1. Stand up and press your heels firmly into the floor.

  2. Imagine your breath isn't stopping at your lungs, but is traveling all the way down to your toes.

  3. Say to yourself (internally or out loud): "I am the pilot. This is my body."

Tell me in the comments: What is one physical sensation (tingling, heat, heaviness) you notice when you actually fully inhabit your body? Is it joyful or concerning - and why?

📓 Journaling and Self-Reflection Prompts

Sometimes we need to write it down to get it out of our aura. People learn, experience, and process energy in a variety of ways—visually, auditorily, conceptually—and here at AotSA, we validate all those different forms. If you process through writing, take 10 minutes with your journal to "audit" a recurring picture in your space you’ve come across using this template.

  • The Escapism Audit:

Be honest with yourself: In what situations do you tend to "eject" from your body? (e.g., During conflict? When bored? When tired?). What are you trying to avoid feeling?

  • The Landlord Check:

If your body is a house, who else has a key? List the names or energies of people (parents, exes, bosses) whose voices influence your daily choices. What would it take to change the locks?

  • Defining Autonomy:

What does "Spiritual Autonomy" mean to you personally? Is it freedom from something, or freedom to do something? Write your own definition.
